About Jodean
I’m Jodean Cooper the calligraphy artist and engraver behind Desert Plume Calligraphy. As a lover of letters and student of calligraphy, my passion is creating beautiful, meaningful art to make others happ. I’ve had a love affair with letters from a very early age, so calligraphy is a natural fit for me. Since 2014 I have passionately pursued opportunities for further education, continuously learning and honing my skills.
I’ve been privileged to study under internationally acclaimed calligraphers and Master Penmen, always striving to push my artistry further. I’m a member of the International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers, and Teachers of Handwriting (IAMPETH), and currently serve as Secretary and Membership Chair for The Calligraphic Society of Arizona.
My promise is to always put my heart and soul into bringing your vision to life through calligraphy. Each piece is crafted with care - each dip of the pen, each stroke of a letter is carefully created to make something special. Still, what I find most gratifying about calligraphy is not how it makes me feel (oh, but I do love that part!). It’s the way a beautifully penned or engraved piece makes someone feel - whether an engraved bottle, hand-addressed envelope, cherished poem, or any number of other meaningful projects.
